First Board Meeting FOR fALL '25

Announcing our next Board Meeting: Tuesday, September 9th at 7pm at the Cornell Center for the installation of our 2025-2026 Board of Directors.  Where: In person at 2148 O Street NW at the Cornell Center, near Dupont Circle. All members of CCW are always invited to our Board Meetings. Come meet the gang and see how to get involved.  Watch our "Events" section for places/logistics for meetings, some of which include the option to attend virtually.

Our club is looking for volunteers with technical and web communications expertise to hop onto our very fun COMMUNICATIONS committee, so reach back to try it out and participate in creating the next generation of communications for CCW.

Have an idea for an event? Know of a Cornellian whose achievement we can spotlight by attending their performance, restaurant opening or by hosting a reception for them? Presently, we have members looking for co-hosts to arrange a golf outing on the  Eastern Shore, hikes, wine tastings, dinners together, outdoor music, outdoor movie attendance in a "picnic blanket series," sports viewings, as well as Community Clean-ups.

Explore collaboration and planning site to see how even our newest members can co-host events to welcome new alumni, organize dining out and tastings on The Big Red Food Tour and appreciate art as well as public servants. Step into action as a co-host when you apply support available at those links (which is optional.) Or, you can supply your event details for posting in an e-mail to VP of Programming.

Take our 5-minute survey so that we can see where to put efforts next. The last section enables you to express your interests for volunteering.

Featured CornellIAN:

Out on the Eastern Shore, Dave Dickieson, Class of '77, is celebrating the GRAND OPENING of his public golf course and country club with a charming wedding/events venue in Denton, Maryland. After years of renovations, (and three years of conducting weddings in its fresh clubhouse) it's go time for the greens! We wish him well for this summer's opening, feeling great that a Cornellian has dedicated so much energy and commitment to a project of historical value for the region. The years-long undertaking included the repair of over 3 miles of underground irrigation piping! Edmund B. Ault designed the course along the Choptank River where the views are stunning!  View details of the 18-hole, Par 72 course.  Then go ahead-- book a tee-time at the Jewel of the Eastern Shore!

Golfers can organize a Cornell event there and meet more club members by applying these resources.
