Meet the students and hear about the teams current endeavors and the benefits of participating in an outside of the classroom experience. From leadership to problem solving, management of finances to project deadlines, these students push to new heights and new depths!

The Cornell University Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (CUAUV) team is a multi-disciplined undergraduate student project team whose primary objective is AUVSI/ONR Underwater Vehicle Competition. The team provides the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in classes through the design and construction of mechanical structures, custom electronic boards, and novel software for image processing and mission planning. Throughout these pursuits, CUAUV is dedicated to providing students with a wide exposure to team-oriented design experiences, and constantly seeks novel ways to use their project in real-world applications. The underwater vehicle has also been used as a research tool in Cayuga Lake to assist in local environmental efforts.

The Cornell University Unmanned Air Systems (CUAir) team seeks to provide students of all disciplines the opportunity to design, build, and test an autonomous, unmanned air system capable of reconnaissance missions.  Each year the team works toward the annual AUVSI Student Unmanned Air Systems Competition where they are judged amongst other universities. Students work on aeronautic design and construction, composites, robotics,  electrical circuit design, high performance, wireless networking, distributed computing software, image processing, autopilot control systems, system documentation, and various system components.
