Busy young professionals new to the area or just looking to make new friends, this event is especially for you.
Interested in vegan and vegetarian dining opportunities in and around DC? Your hosts are inviting folks for a second great conversation and eats as we try out Ethiopian fare at Abuare:
Who: small group (~6 around the table)
If there's a long waiting list, we'll organize more than one table.
One of your hostesses fancies herself as an organizer of "salons" where it's all about stimulating conversation. So bring your best conversational game! We hope to generate much more than just small talk. You'll tell us what you've been reading, best memories of Cornell, and importantly, we'll ask what cultural, outdoors and social activities you most hope the Cornell Club will organize this spring and summer, especially for active singles in their 30s, 40s and 50s. (This is a demographic we want to bring aboard and satisfy with CCW event offerings.)
We'll provide supportive guidance/insights in case you are thinking to host (or co-host with one of us) your first CCW event!
No registration fee for members; $5 for non-CCW members in case a Cornellian wants to bring a friend. We won't organize more than about 6 to a table. We'll do separate tabs.
Follow up your registration with a note to introduce yourself to Maggie at librarianms@gmail.com to include restaurant suggestions for additional eateries if you have such a recommendation. Vegans and Vegetarians Venturing Out is a developing SERIES and we're seeking hosts to carry it forward with regularity. Hosting is very easy and rewarding!
