invite you to

A conversation with Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick ’09 and

Steve Israel, former Congressman and Director, Institute for Politics and Global Affairs

at Cornell University’s Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy

Join us as Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick ’09 and former Congressman Steve Israel host a conversation on how the younger generation of Americans can become more engaged in politics, policy discussion and community service.

Svante Myrick, who at age 24 became the youngest and first person of color to become mayor of Ithaca, will be stepping down from his current role on February 6 to become executive director of People for the American Way.

Steve Israel served in Congress for 16 years, beginning in 2001, representing parts of Long Island. He was a member of the Armed Services Committee and the House Appropriations subcommittees on defense and on state and foreign operations.

Alumni are invited to join in on the conversation by pre-submitting comments and questions through the registration form or engaging live through the Q&A feature during this online event.
