Sponsored by the White House Historical Association. Featured artist is bassist Kris Funn and his ensemble.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Funn began playing the trumpet at age four and took up the double bass at age 14 upon entering high school. After graduating with an honors degree in computer science from Howard University, Funn decided to pursue a career as a professional jazz musician, performing in several venues in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan areas as well as traveling internationally with other Jazz luminaries. In 2017, Kris released his debut album, “Cornerstore". The Corner Store reminds him of his childhood—the corner store does not always have what you need, but they sure do have things you find yourself guilty of wanting from time to time.
Ticketed admission includes jazz performance, open bar, light hors d'oeuvres, tours of the historic Decatur House, and a chance to win raffle prizes. Guests can also shop the White House History Shop that evening.
ADMISSION – Limited to the first 60 people to sign up$35 per person – Tickets must be purchased online at the link below. There will be no ticket sale at the door on the day of the event.
