Join the Cornell Club of Washington and the Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) as we celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21st!
This will be our eighth year participating in the AWS cleanup, and our first year at the new site at Mount Rainier Nature Center. Our goal is to have at least 20 CCW members roll up their sleeves, help clean the Anacostia River Watershed, and have a great time. Volunteer tasks will consist mainly of light manual labor, including plant care, removal of invasive species, mulching, and more. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing. Gardening gloves will be provided by AWS, but you are to bring your favorite gloves with you! The more, the merrier -please feel free to bring family and friends. *Please note that this event is family friendly. Children may join in, although they will need their own waiver form.
