Cornell in Washington

Campaign 2016 Series

Cornell in Washington’s fall speaker series will bring in a range of experts to talk about the 2016 Presidential campaign.  This election is unprecedented in a number of ways, from having the first woman running on a major party ballot, to having Donald Trump as the official GOP nominee.  Each speaker will look at a different aspect of what is happening this fall, and try to make sense of it for the audience.  Speakers include Carl Leubsdorf, the Dallas Morning News’ Washington columnist, Lou Jacobson, a senior editor at Politifact, the fact-checking site, and Dr. Katherine Scott, the Associate Historian of the US Senate.  The events will be a mix of both talk and discussion, so bring your questions and thoughts.  All the talks will be held at the Cornell Wolpe Center near Dupont Circle.

Today, September 30th at 12:30 pm — Dr. Katherine Scott, Senate Historical Office, “The Senate in 2016.”
