International Spirit of Zinck’s Night - 2011 · Updated

Thursday Oct 20 20116:00 pm

Come join your old Cornell friends of all classes—and make some new ones—at Zinck’s Night in the nation’s capital! This year’s event is at the very cool Tap & Parlour club, on the U Street corridor.

Happy hour pricing will be in effect...cash bar, $1-$3 draft beers and $5 cocktails. They’ll have Catfish Fingers and Buffalo Wings available at no charge, too.

Theodore Zinck was a saloonkeeper in Ithaca and his pub, the Hotel Brunswick, was a popular gathering place for Cornellians in the 1890s. After his death in 1903, several bars using his name continued to provide a haven for students. When the last “Zinck’s” closed in the mid-60s, celebrating the spirit of Zinck’s became a favorite Thursday night Collegetown tradition of undergraduates. It wasn't long afterwards that Cornellians continued the tradition in their hometowns.

Sponsored in DC by the Cornell Club of Washington, Zinck’s Night is the premier Cornell alumni event to catch up with old friends and welcome new alumni to the area.
