An Evening of Maya Lin
Join us for a docent-led tour of the Maya Lin exhibit "Structured Landscapes" at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. With this event, you will be reminded of the interdisciplinary character of the arts, architecture, and the sciences. The importance of the arts at Cornell is critical, as is the role of all artists and architects in our community.
Our one-hour tour begins promptly at 6:30. Afterward, those who are interested will take a bring-your-own picnic dinner to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall for additional discussion and a Q&A about Lin's design process for the Memorial. We'll end the evening with a sunset walk through the Memorial. Dessert will be provided (and you may check picnic bags orbaskets at the museum prior to the tour).
If you are able to volunteer your car, we need a few carpoolers to transport an ice cooler for drinks (no alcohol, please), some folding seats, and anyone who is unable or does not wish to walk to the Memorial. Volunteers are also needed to return participants to the Gallery or the Metro at the end of the evening. If you can offer your car, please contact Katherine Stifel as soon as possible ().
RSVP early - this event is limited to 30 people and we cannot accommodate any walkins.
