This year's 9/11 Unity Walk ( www.911unitywalk.org ) again brings together people of the world's faiths and cultures to celebrate the unity of humanity in a world struggling with religious intolerance.
Religious leaders and people of terrific diversity share in a spirited walk along Massachusetts Avenue, beginning at Washington Hebrew Congregation and concluding at the Gandhi Memorial. During the Walk, people will be greeted by faith leaders in front of their houses of worship – the Papal Nuncio at the Archdiocese, Sikh chanters in front of their Gurdwara. When the Walk reaches the Gandhi memorial, there will be Hindu chanting and music before remarks by a compatriot of Dr. Martin Luther King.
Cornellians can meet together at the Cactus Cantina (3300 Wisconsin Ave NW) at about 12pm for lunch. If you just want to come for the walk, join us at 2pm at the Washington Hebrew Congregation .
