6th Annual Washington D.C. Dragon Boat Festival 2007

Our Cornell Club is again entering its team, respected as the Big Red Dragons, in Washington’s annual Dragon Boat Festival, to be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 19-20, 2007. Each boat needs 20 paddlers, and the CCW Tri-Captains are eager to recruit some new talent—no previous experience necessary. Information on the Festival is available on the web at www.dragonboatdc.com.

CCW’s Big Red Dragons will have three training sessions beginning in April. We will try to schedule the third and final session on a Sunday afternoon in May, but need to compete for that slot with many other teams. We will again compete as a mixed Festival Boat, racing against other adult teams comprised of men and women from companies and various other affinity groups.

Kate Bryant ‘98, one of the Big Red Dragons’ tri-captains, is handling this year’s sign-ups. Please email your interest in joining the team to her immediately, so we can get our preferred dates for the three practice sessions.

Address your emails and questions to Kate Bryant at (Tel. 202-546-9184). Questions may also be addressed by phone to Bob Day (301-438-7755), but Kate is handling the sign-ups.
