Prof. Steven Squyres on the Mars Rover

Cornellians are invited to a Carnegie Institution Capital Science Evenings event:

Roving Mars: Spirit, Opportunity, and the Exploration of the Red Planet

Join Steven Squyres from Cornell University, Department of Astronomy for his lecture. In January 2004, NASA’s twin robotic explorers Spirit and Opportunity landed on Mars. Expected to last for 90 days, the two rovers have been exploring the planet’s surface for more than two years now, searching for evidence of past water. Could conditions on Mars have supported life?

The lecture is being held as part of the Carnegie Institution’s Capital Science Evenings series. All lectures are free and open to the public and are held at the Carnegie Institution, located at the corner of 16th and P Streets NW). Lectures can be sign interpreted for the hearing-impaired.
