Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Yacob Addy & Odadda

Tuesday May 2 20068:00 pm

CCW has reserved seats for a special evening of New Orleans jazz featuring the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, and Ghanaian percussion ensemble, “Odadda”, led by master African drum mer, Yacub Addy.

A musical portrait of Congo Square in New Orleans where, from the 1750s to 1850s, the French founders allowed the slaves to sing and dance their native music on Sundays. The piece will connect the traces of this history, which created one of the foundations of jazz, with the unique knowledge and understanding of traditional African artists. This collaboration will open new horizons and understanding of this era and its link to today.
