Join the gang in our Cornell Club's walking and running group for a 45-min session getting marathon "visioning" advice and a pep talk, fun photo ops and autographs with Celebrity Coach Darrell General.

Coach General is  2 time winner of the Marine Corps Marathon, Olympics Trials Qualifier, professional athlete and coach of high school cross country, winning the Virginia State championships multiple years, sending individual runners to Nationals. He was also FloTrack's Hometown Hero award winner, 2018 (a national award) and is an all around gifted guide.  He's a super inspiring cool, humble "you can do this" inspiration.  Who knows the Marine Corps Marathon course better than this man? Maybe no one.  Let's add this memory to your running career!

We will follow the session with exercise on our usual trails starting at 9. Session is timed to support CCW's runners as they begin to "taper" for the Marine Corps Marathon, but all exercisers are welcome (runners, walkers, strollers, dog walkers.)

Meet at the large spiny sculpture at 7th and Independence, SW between the Air and Space Museum and the Hirschhorn Museum.

    Closest metro = L'Enfant Plaza.

$20 registration (members and non-members, non-refundable with a portion going to charity)

For our Q andA with him, send your questions to our event host Maggie well ahead of the session: Librarian    MS   @ gmail.com (no spaces)

After the pep talk and photo session, choose any of the trails (varying distances and difficulties) on our site's map --because we will group up for exercise.

Media about Coach General. E-mail Coach G at runbrotherman@gmail.com

Find event details, trail map, including logistical updates (for example, postponement in case of bad weather) at https://sites.google.com/view/ccw-event-details/running-walking-group BE SURE TO CHECK THAT LINK on the morning of the event. Week 4: How FABulous You Are! An Interactive Interview Prep Workshop with Melissa Reitkopp Cornell '85-

Wednesday, October 22 at 12:30pm - Register here!
Think of an interview as a chance to market yourself-it's all about being prepared with the right info and knowing how to close. Anticipating questions and sharing clear, impactful responses will make you more effective.  We will work in an interactive workshop to learn the FAB (Features, Accomplishments, Benefits) method that incorporates a behavioral interview technique called STAR (Situation, Task, Action Results), a game-changer for interview prep. The FAB with STAR stories is a powerful way to help you "show, not tell." Solid prep means you'll feel more confident, provide stronger answers, and have better conversations. Don't forget to identify and overcome any objections with key closing questions.
