Tudor Place House and Garden Tour - Martha Washington Series

Sunday Apr 23 20062:00 pm

We visit Tudor Place Historic House and Garden in the next stop in the Martha Washington Series, with a post event gathering at a Georgetown Restaurant.

Tudor Place, completed in 1816 by Thomas Peter and his wife Martha Custis Peter, granddaughter of Martha Washington, was designed by Dr. William Thornton, the first architect of the U.S. Capitol. The elegant neoclassical house was the home of six generations of the Peter family and is now a National Historic Landmark located on 4.5 acres in the heart of Georgetown's Historic District.

Tudor Place has several hundred pieces of Mount Vernon and Martha and George Washington memorabilia, the largest collection outside of Mount Vernon itself.
