Cornell University Chorus Concert

The Cornell University Chorus, Cornell's premier treble voice ensemble, will be performing at The Falls Church Episcopal at 7:30 pm on Friday, March 22 as part of their Northeast Tour. The ensemble has gained a reputation as one of the nation's most outstanding women's choirs.

Comprised of fifty women from a variety of backgrounds, the Chorus has a repertoire spanning eight centuries and ten languages, including masses, motets, spirituals, folk, and a variety of other classical and contemporary pieces.

Our current repertoire includes:

“Kassia’s Hymn”  - Kay Rhie
( 2012 composition for the Chorus through the “No Whining, No Flowers”
Commissioning project )
“Kyrie” and “Gloria” from “Mass No.6” - Gyogry Orban
“Hosanna” - David Conte
“Three Illuminations” (premiered by the Chorus in 2012) - Niccolo D.

“Suo Gan” - Arr. Thomas Edward Morgan
“Flow Gently, Sweet Afton” - Arr. Lana Walter
“I Know My Time Ain’t Long” - Arr. J. David Moore
“Venecek” - Zdenek Lukas
A reception will be offered in the church’s fellowship hall following the concert. Tickets for the concert are $20 for adults and $15 for students, and they may be purchased at cuchorus.com under “Concerts & Events,” along with tickets for the reception.
