Welcome
CCW President’s Letter
Happy New Year!
That’s right! It’s new year’s here for the Cornell Club of Washington, which began its new membership year on July 1st.
The CCW board of directors has spent the summer strategically planning how to make 2011-2012 one of the best years ever for Cornell Alumni, Students, Parents, and Friends. These efforts not only include programming that ranges from faculty symposiums on bioterrorism to beer tastings; from book clubs to pro team sports outings; from pre-Reunion events to the Annual Dinner and Father’s Day Picnic.
The club is also busy:sAwarding scholarships to local DC, VA and MD students to help them attend Cornell.sKicking off a career and professional networking effort to help connect Cornellians throughout their careers. Planning service weekends for the Fall, Winter, and Spring so that alumni can join together to enrich the community.
Do you think these efforts are worthwhile? Are you proud that you attended an institution that continues to serve you as an alumnus? If yes, please consider joining or renewing your membership. These activities are impossible without a robust membership. I know that you have many organizations competing for your hard earned income. But I think most of you will agree that $35/year; $80 for three years or $350 for a lifetime membership is a great investment in Cornell’s largest all volunteer alumni association.
I am humbled by the opportunity to lead this organization, whose officers, directors, and members give their time, talents and treasures so generously. I look forward to seeing many of you in the coming months. Please email me with any feedback.
Sincerely,
Nicole DelToro
