CAAAN Frosh Send-Off Party

OPEN ONLY TO INCOMING STUDENTS. 

Come eat, meet, and speak with your fellow members of the Class of 2015, current undergraduates, and local alumni.  A panel of undergraduate Cornellians will speak from 6:15 to 7:30 pm to give you first and information about campus life and answer questions.  We hope that you will join us!

This “casual dress” event is for Cornell incoming first-year and transfer students only.  (Due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate parents, siblings, or friends.)

Directions will be sent to students once they have registered (specific invitation)

Topics & Panelists for Washington, DC, CAAAN Frosh Send-Off Party

Each panelist talks for about five minutes, then other panelists make additions.  Q&A with frosh after panel finishes.

(1)  housing and meal plans, with emphasis on freshman year:  Matthew Rubin.

(2)  fraternities and sororities:  Josh Katcher.

(3)  extracurriculars (athletics, clubs, newspaper, & other student activities --see student organizations at http://sao.cornell.edu/SO/ :  Michelle Winglee.

(4)  academics, including class size, interaction with professors and teaching assistants, junior year abroad or in Washington, summer courses/research abroad with professors, etc.:  Jill Katcher.

(5)  miscellaneous (weather/clothes, checking accounts, what to bring for your dorm room, laptop vs. desktop, orientation week, bicycles/cars vs. public transportation, transportation to and from Cornell over holidays (e.g., CB-Bus), Cornell Facebook web site for frosh, etc.:  Nicole Kelly.
